Performance Management

An organization and its people can mutually benefit through a shared commitment where there is linkage between what the organization’s vision and goals are and what motivates and drives employees to excel. This course focuses on the importance of managing performance expectations and results, how to measure the correct indicators of true progress, and how to effectively give feedback that strengthens and improves performance rather than stifles it.

The intent of this course is to help you understand:

  • The need for individual performance objectives that are aligned with the organization’s vision and goals
  • The importance of measuring the right indicators for true progress or accomplishment of performance objectives
  • Why contributions that lead to the attainment of organization goals (progress toward vision) must also meet individual needs and inspire passion and motivation for employees to do their best
  • How the expectations you place on an employee’s performance can affect your behavior toward them and their performance in response to your behavior
  • The importance of providing feedback that is timely and clear, encourages correct behavior, and promotes learning that leads to performance sustainability
